Volvo Construction Equipment is pulling out of Ashville North Carolina

In a press release Volvo announced the following. "In a move to improve the competitiveness and overall industrial efficiency of Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), the company has decided to consolidate its North American industrial operations by removing excess industrial capacity in the Americas."
Volvo Construction Equipment Asheville, NC, manufacturing facility will stop its activities by March 2010. The production from Ashville will be moved to other existing manufacturing locations. Wheel loader will be moved to Arvika, Sweden. Excavators will be produced in Changwon, South Korea. Cabs for motor graders will be moved to Shippensburg, PA. and the plans to produce motor graders in Shippensburg, PA has not changed.
