The maximum tree size which can be removed will vary greatly depending on the size of the skid steer, type of tree and ground conditions. Generally, it can pull up to 12” diameter trees. Consult with your local Virnig dealer or contact Virnig at 800-648-2408 if unsure if the Digging Tree Puller is right for your application.
WHAT BENEFITS DOES HAVING A SINGLE MOVING JAW OFFER IN COMPARISON TO HAVING TWO MOVING JAWS?Having one fixed jaw makes it easier to align trees and objects when approaching them. The fixed jaw provides increased control, allowing you to get inside of a tree that’s next a fence post or a neighboring tree. It serves as a reliable guide for pulling tasks, making it easier to center the jaw on objects during the approach. Fixed jaw drives into the ground easier and is simpler with less moving part. In contrast, using two moving jaws can be more challenging to align objects while approaching them. Also, there’s extra parts and maintenance with two moving jaws.
HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO A STUMP BUCKET?The Digging Tree Puller offers numerous benefits in comparison to a stump bucket. It allows you to extract entire trees by gently rocking them to loosen the root system from the soil. Additionally, the Digging Tree Puller enables you to pinch and cut roots. Overall, the Digging Tree Puller causes less ground disturbance, resulting in reduced cleanup efforts.
HOW CAN I PULL OUT A METAL FENCE POST WITHOUT BENDING IT?Place the jaws as close to the ground as possible with the right, fixed jaw up against the post. Slowly close the left jaw onto the fence post and lift straight up. If the post does not loosen then gently move the skid steer loader back and forth to loosen the post and try lifting straight up again.
WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF THE TEETH ON THE JAW?The jaw teeth are made from ½” AR400 and 1/2” Grade 50 steel plate. Additionally, every tooth is gusseted with ½” grade 50 steel to provide rigidity. These attributes allow the Virnig Digging Tree Puller jaw to outperform inferior steel designs, even if they‘re thicker.
